They said come and demonstrate. No one listened!

In a city which has up to 65,000 Ethiopians (which is probably on the low end) 75 so called opposition members stood outside the Ethiopian embassy and shouted their lungs out. From a numbers perspective 75 out of 65,000 is 0.11% of the total population in DC. However some people say DC has 100,000 Ethiopians. If true that would reduce the percentage of the total population which came out to 0.075%.

As we have stated in the past numbers do not really mean anything because a lot of factors play a role in the outcome. However, one can not discount the level of effort which was employed to gain a large outcome. One can not discount the Ethiopian Review and Negat Radio promoting the demonstration. One can not ignore the various Paltalk rooms who urged their supporters to go out in force and demonstrate against DPM Addisu. For example Negat Radio stated that they needed a large turn out to prove those who think the opposition in DC is not divided. Listen to Negat Radio by clicking here to listen for their urgent call for a demonstration. Per the words of Negat Radio a large turn out was necessary because they new how divided they were as an opposition. They also knew that if they failed to have a large turn out they would loose credibility. Listen to their own incriminating words. We are not making this up.

As it turns out they had a turnout of 75 people. According to Ethiopian review they claimed hundreds. Fine let them have hundreds. If 200 people showed up that means .3 % of the population based on 65,000 people attended the demonstration. If on the other hand you base these numbers on a population base of 100,000 , then only .2 % of the population in DC heeded Negat Radio, Paltalk and Ethiopian Reviews call and showed up to demonstrate. We are talking about LESS than ONE PERCENT of the total population regardless of what population figure we use to measure the turn out. Less than 1% spells failure in anyone’s book or definition when the organizers state that a huge turn out is necessary to define success...Any way you measure it whether they had 75 people or 200 people; it was a total and utter failure. Not because we said so but because they said so. They said unless they got a huge turn out it would be a failure! Don’t blame us blame Negat Radio and Elias Kifle. C'est la vie!

Ethiomedia Truth or Fiction?
Despite all the planning and promotion the Seattle community made up of tens of thousands of Ethiopians only managed to get 60 people to demonstrate against DPM Addisu Leggesse. Click here for more info from a Seattle News Paper.

The Ethiomedia however unaware this was being covered by the Seattle Newspaper made the following statement in their report. "From among 19 attendees, about 10 of them were from the Ethiopian Moslem community who expressed their anger at how the regime was violating their rights as citizens." Obviously this is far from the truth because their statement implies only 9 people came in support of EPRDF while 10 Ethiopian Moslems were there to complain. If Ethiomedia lies about simple issues as to the numbers of people in attendance then what else do they lie about? Click here to read about documented Ethiomedia lies. Secondly, why did Ethiomedia in its report fail to state the number of Ethiopians in the rally? Were they embarrassed of such a low turn out despite their huge promotion all over the internet? Click here to read the Ethiomedia report about the meeting and compare it to the Seattle Newspaper report above.

Numbers Numbers Numbers
Numbers Numbers Numbers

We have been hearing several Ethiopian websites claiming only twenty people showed up to DPM Addissu Leggesse’s meeting in San Jose. Since we do not have any confirmation we can not comment on the actual numbers. However it is interesting to hear from these sources that the low turn out is a referendum on the EPRDF. Well by that same logic, the 40 people who marched against the EPRDF in the LA soccer tournament, the 15 people who show up to CUD meetings and all the other opposition rallies is a referendum on the popularity or lack of it in the Diaspora. Please recognize we do not subscribe to the above stated theory or logic. We purely wanted to show those websites how irrational they sound when they come up with such conclusions. There are many factors for low turn out in both camps. However it is not as simple as those in some opposition websites wished it could be. At the very least if they think they can gain political capital from such low turn outs in EPRDF meetings, we will remind them about the major low turn outs for events they sponsored in which major planning and promotion took place. The LA soccer tournament is a classic example. In a place where up to at least 10,000 people gathered from all over the USA and a place that has over 20,000 residents despite all the planning and promotion, the CUD was only able to have 40 people show up for their much touted demonstration. As the saying goes, “THOSE WHO LIVE IN GLASS HOUSES SHOULD NOT THROW STONES”!

When your neighbors house burns yours (Shabia) will as well!

The Shabia Government or better yet Govern-less is biting more than it can chew. Thinking it can create instability in the horn without feeling the brunt of the instability it created, Shabia is creating an inferno in our region. The old saying which paraphrased states when my neighbors house burns if I do not help put the fire out will burn my house is a very true adage. Shabia lacking wisdom is creating a very dangerous situation in Ethiopia. Like Shabia the victims of its evil scheme also have the ability to return the favor in kind. Although the other governments in the horn are discreet about their strategies, we know for sure that Shabia is under a lot of pressure from forces within its base. Lately we have seen and heard reports that in Western Eritrea unknown and known forces are daily attacking Shabia forces. Of course the non existent press in Shabia is unable to expose this information. Shabia on the other hand, always presents itself as an untouchable force will never admit these attacks unless witnessed by foreign elements. The horn nations patient and slow to anger are beginning to prepare a counter assault against Shabia. The latest example of this is the newly formed relationship just formed between the Eritrean Liberation Front and the Somalian Transitional Government.

Shabians are both fooling themselves and most of us. In reality the instability it is causing in the region with the intention of shortening EPRDF’s life will instead shorten PFDJ’s life. You can take that to the bank.

Flag Abuse Shabia Style. Supporting actors Solomon and Demisse.

Ethiopian opposition forces who are aligned with Shabia have hit an all time low.  The video which shows the Ethiopian flag getting abused in Asmara has become a big point of contention for most Ethiopians. Despite the all out attempt by Paltalk rooms and Shabia supporters to misinform people about the date, it is clear that they have been caught with their pants down. Solomon Tekalign and Demisse were aware of this incident before they went to Asmara to eat pasta. Hager Fiker Radio announced this incident on its website about a month ago. Our calls for these elements to condemn this act fell on deaf ears and today because the video appeared they are trying very hard to fool people into thinking this video was made in 1991.

In truth this was made in 2006. First and foremost Shabia when it marched into Asmara in 1991 did not have the logistics to organize such a lavish party in a North Korean Communist style also Fidel Castro style celebration. Secondly ERI TV did not exist in 1991. If this was 1991 we would have also seen such people as Durye, Mohammed Sherrifo and all the other Shabia ministers who today are in prison cells. In fact Mohammed Sherifo would have been sitting next to Issayas not the fellow with a no name.

Lastly the reason it says 1991 on the parade vehicle carrying the flag is because that was what Shabia was depicting. It was depicting the year of independence which occurred in 1991. It was playing Ethiopian music flying an Ethiopian flag to symbolize Ethiopian rule in 1991. Then it dramatically assisted with the abuse on the Ethiopian flag symbolized the dawn of Eritrean independence by showing the Shabia flag which flew in Asmara in 1991. That is all folks. Nothing complicated and nothing was manipulated. The facts are the facts. The Ethiopian flag was abused and those who accused Prime Minister Meles of calling the flag a piece of cloth are defending the actions of Shabia. You can judge for yourself.
