We are not sure what type of Ethiopian takes pleasure in posting gruesome pictures of dead Ethiopians on his website for perceived political capital. Currently on that website a photo slide show of dead Ethiopians in Jimma is posted for all to see. Other than a useless warning that the pictures are gruesome, these pictures are graphic enough to offend all Ethiopians. Our culture is not one that uses dead bodies regardless of who ever commits those acts to gain political capital. Our culture mourns and respects the dead. We have a very elaborate grieving process and comfort one another in moments of crises.

What is Un-Ethiopian is to use the suffering of others to promote self interest. We support the right of Ethiopian Review to work for the demise of the EPRDF. However what is unacceptable is to use the tragedy of Jimma to further ones ambition. The deaths in Jimma has not been investigated enough to draw a conclusion as to who was the assailant. Therefore when a website in the name of politics uses the death of these people to attack the EPRDF, one can not help but question whether there is a sadistic element in the nature of that site. The tragedy in Jimma is not a political football. It is a tragedy and it is as near to sacrilegious to exploit this incident for personal gain as one can get to being sacrilegious.

We urge Ethiopian Review to continue fighting for what they believe in with all their energy. We support their right to oppose EPRDF and wish its downfall. However we also plead with them not to exploit the deaths of Ethiopians to attain that objective.
