Shabia sending bad signals we can not ignore! Because EPRDF is in a very good position both economically and security wise, we have no doubt it will never trigger a war with Shabia. The CUD elements have proven to be impotent and external threats controlled. Therefore it makes no sense for EPRDF to start a war with Shabia. However, Shabia is another story. We hope that Weizero Birtikwan will apologize for the actions of her supporters. If her apology was heartfelt, she needs to condemn her own supporters. In fact Al Mariam an African himself is famous for working hard to ensure that kids in Ethiopia go to bed hungry until his political party wins power in Ethiopia. This tactic is the modern version of what his heroes from the Derg regime tried to do which was "in order to Kill the Fish, Drain the Sea". We are not aware of anything that Al Mariam has done to feed even one kid for one night in Ethiopia! We are very well aware of what Inhofe has done and we publicly thank him for his love and care. What we do agree with the good professor is that some folks in the US government think Ethiopia has lost her edge. This line of thinking is born from the manner in which the once proud Ethiopian Diaspora has resorted to getting on their knees and begging to be colonized by the USA. We apologize but we have our reasons. If you recall, we declared CUD dead when they were released from Kaliti. It was obvious that events preceding their release and comments from Betenachew (andeargatche) Tsigie clearly illustrated that the CUD now stood for Coalition Under Destruction! Having said that we also decided that we did not need to cover the events since our partner Elias Kefel-achew Kifle from the Ethiopian Review was doing a better job on fighting the misguided CUD leaders. In fact we at Hagerfiker have voted to award Elias Kifle the MVW award for his work destroying the CUD coalition MVW= Most Valuable Woyane. We urge the EPRDF to honor this dedicated Tagay with a statute on a street named after him. If anybody deserves that honor it certainly goes to our Woyane of the year Elias Kifle. The truth of the matter is that CUD is dead and beyond any miraculous recovery from death. The organization cannot be reformulated or reinvented. The manner in which they slid into abyss will be examined by historians and political junkies for years to come. For now Professor Mesfin has spoken and he has declared the CUD dead. The good professor spoke in double tongues by saying the Organization is one but its members that have split. What kind of warped logic is that? Therefore, lets focus on issues at hand which are real and not waste our time on the CUD Lekso wagon. As one witty Paltalker stated last week, Chairman Hailu Shawel is now Wheelman Hailu Shawel. Therefore unless we want to be paralyzed by the endless bickering in the CUD circle, it is time that we extricate ourselves from their poltical mess and refocus our energies on what truly will make a difference. It is time to reconcile with those willing to work within the system and forget those CUDites who from now on are no longer different from their nemesis the EPRP. Like the EPRP they will from now on be a party that is dead but thinks it is two weeks away from overtaking the Menlik Palace. Lastly we want to point out that releasing the CUD leaders from Kaliti has to be one of the slickest, sophisticated political maneuvering ever displayed by Ethiopian Leadership. Look at the CUD now compared to what they were when they were in the Kaliti gated community. We feel it is only a matter of time before the Diaspora CUD'ites run to Donald Payne to have him draft another bill which will condemn the Ethiopian Government for freeing their leaders. After all if it were not for President Girma's pardon The CUD leaders would still be in jail, the party relatively still intact and the money they just donated for Berhanu Negas children's college fund still in their pockets. I am writing this because I saw on the ER website that the CUD auditor, a certain Ato Tesfaye is an employee of the Federal Election Commission. Aren't US federal employees prohibited from serving in foreign political parties and lobbying on behalf of foreign governments and political parties to influence US governement policies. I live outside the US and would like to know the rules and we can write to those Federal Agencies where these people are working. Look forward to hearing from you.
