As
many of you may have noticed the diaspora political landscape
seems to have somewhat disappeared from the horizon. No,
this is not a figment of your imagination but something
that is actually happening. The fallout from the bloody
CUD civil war has taken its toll and the infrastructure
both sides destroyed by attacking one another has been completely
obliterated. The last hurrah was fund raising that took
place which raised some monies for which no accountability
is in place to ensure it is not stolen. Other than that
the very fiber of CUD has been torn asunder and the organization
is pronounced dead. The various Paltlak rooms still attack
one another based on party lines not realizing that they
have become the new EPRP which lives forever in the minds
of its members despite having no body nor frame. This is
the sad state they find themselves in today after having
colluded in their parties' destruction. CUD is gone and
it is gone forever. All its parts have withered apart in
an acrimonious manner. They will never reconstitute again
nor influence in a manner which they once did. If you are
wondering, CUD is dead and the Diaspora is standing holding
an empty bag.

The picture below is posted
in Shabias website. According to Shabia these are Ethiopian
Soldiers who have defected. Unfortunately for the dumb Shabia
government, we all know the shoes that these soldiers are
wearing are standard issue Shabia boots. The Ethiopian army
wears real military boots. Also the name Teages Esayas Mamo
is not a traditional Walitaa name. You may also have noticed
that everytime Shabia reports Ethiopian defections they
always have one Amhara, one Tigrayan, one Oromo and other
ethnic groups. It reminds us of Noas ark where there were
two cows, two chimps, two birds etc...This is really funny.
Lastly Shabia somehow forgets that their are probably close
to 20 thousand Eritreans who have defected into Ethiopia
the last few years. How many Ethiopians are in Shabia refugee
camps??? None is the answer. In fact last week 900 Ethiopians

When
Shabia beats the war drums, the western media dances on
queue and dances very well. The latest claims unsubstantiated
as usual have been received by the western media and exploited
to the maximum. The lazy western press and International
organizations such as "International Crisis Group"
never ever put in the minimum necessary level of effort
to investigate an issue when it comes to Africa. Frankly
it is a shock that they even report the news from Africa.
For example the above named International organization and
the media in general have been throwing around the idea
that Ethiopia may invoke a coup d'état in Eritrea
in the near future click

One such media (Washington Post) used the intention of the
Ethiopian Air Force to bomb the Eritrean capital, Asmara
in order to trigger the coup click

Where did the idea of a coup come from? Think about it folks,
who is feeding these agencies this idea that a coup may
occur? We think it is Shabia itself because Shabia is well
aware that they are having a major internal crisis among

The recently reported assassination attempt on the security
chief was dismissed as a revenge killing for the murder
of a local business man. Ya right! If you believe that,
we have Ski Vacation we would like to sell you in Ethiopia.
The
bottom line is that Shabia is having serious internal issues
as pointed out by our Foreign Minister H.E Seyoum Mesfin.
The claims by Shabia of an imminent Ethiopian attack and
the manner in which the lazy western press plays his tunes
is not enough to save his hide. If in fact a coup takes
place we have no doubt that the Ethiopian government will
not sit idle. We have no doubt that depending on who is
behind the coup attempt; Ethiopia will either side with
the Coup Makers or Issayas. At the end of the day, it all
depends on who is the bigger enemy. Stay tuned and stay
focused. Ethiopia would never do Issayas a favor by starting
a war and empowering the dying regime of Shabia with fuel
from Eritrean nationalism. Issayas so badly wants to tap
into that nationalist reservoir but EPRDF is simply too
smart to let that ever happen.

In
order to enhance the knowledge of the commodities exchange
market for the soon to be launched The Ethiopia Commodities
Exchange, a group of senior Ethiopian government officials
from the financial and banking sectors lead by Dr. Addis
Alem Balema has completed a two weeks intensive workshop
and seminar at The Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and The
Chicago Board of Trade. The group has returned to Ethiopia
after a couple of days of stop to visit with the U.S. Federal
Reserve Bank in Washington , D.C.
Somehow I was reminded of the U.S. Army infomercial “While
you were asleep…” . Remember? the infomercial which shows
a group of U.S. Army members building and completing a makeshift
command post in a forest seemingly between the hours of
5 and 9 AM.
