"... the issue of insurgency continues to trouble the region, and Africa as a whole. The way forward is through development, the way forward is thru legitimate opposition... it is not through picking up arms and insurgency. It is a message that the African Union (AU) needs to make much more loudly to its member states.” --- Jendayi Frazier , U.S. Asst. Secretary of State

Rethinking Africa’s roads network challenges

"Another somewhat success story comes from the horn. Ethiopia has had quite a successful experience in its recent efforts to improve its roads. In 1997, Addis Ababa launched a Road Sector Development Programme (RSDP) and, according to the ECA, a 2002 evaluation of the RSDP showed an increase in the total classified road network by 40% over a period of 5 years, with an increase of 107% in regional roads, including tertiary roads. There was also an increase in the proportion of roads in good condition from 18% in 1995 to 30% in 2002."

Does Ethiopian Review = EPRDF Propoganda Machine?

The PRO EPRDF website Ethiopian Review has posted a video clip of demonstrators chanting anti EPRDF slogans in Addis Ababa. In that clip they even show Ethiopian police watching them and respecting their right to demonstrate. Although the numbers were not that much, the fact that they were able to demonstrate in front of the police without fear and repercussion says a lot about the Government's willingness to grow democracy in Ethiopia. On that note we want to thank the Ethiopian Review for the video which testifies to the openness (Perestroika) in Ethiopia contrary to what a lot in Diaspora claim. If that does not make Ethiopian Review Pro EPRDF, nothing ever will!

We urge the Patriotic Ethiopians to use that video as a reference point when educating your Senators and Congressmen. Contrary to what they are made to believe, the facts on the ground are completely different than the lies spewed by HR 2003 proponents. In fact it is good to see the kind of anti Bush demonstrations that we see in DC being repeated in Addis. This says a lot about the evolution of democracy in our nation.

In fact if Ethiopian Review truly believed that the EPRDF was a beast, we hardly think they would expose the demonstrators on video. That would be sadistic. We also have no doubt that if the demonstrators were scared of being arrested, they would have turned away from the cameras and kept silent.

Below you will find other examples of freedom of speech expressed in an anti EPRDF rally in Ethiopia. Click on the image to see videos

EMAIL from a Proud PFDJ cadre

Hagerfiker got an email from a proud Shabia supporter stating that according to some study infant mortality from Malaria dropped 50% in the last five years in Eritrea. This proud Shabian thought we would be upset by this news. In fact we are happy that our African brothers are dying less due to malaria. What we are sad about is that their master Issayas has made up for that decline by increasing the rate of death caused by war, torture and escape.

Furthermore the birth rate in general has probably declined since all able young people are forced into slavery breaking rocks for their Shabia master. We assume that the traditional family in Eritrea is also in decline since the young people are not allowed to live their lives like other young people in the world.

Lastly, our sources revealed that the main reason the mortality rate declined from malaria in Eritrea is because the Mosquitoes like their human brothers and sisters from Eritrea are fleeing Eritrea en masse to neighboring countries.

Desperate Somalia

Washington Post

The Washington Post finally gets it partially correct. As we argued on our commentary the war in Somalia is not only in Ethiopia's interest but equally in the interest of the USA. In that commentary (commentary read here) we tried to argue that the liberals when and if they get the White House will have no choice but to continue the Bush strategy. The Washington Post article has strongly hinted at this by stating that "If the Islamists win, Somalia could become a base for al-Qaeda and a staging point for attacks in East Africa and Europe." The Europeans should also be aware of this fact.

This realization by the Washington Post does not fare well for those who are proponents of HR 2003. Therefore, it is incumbent on all Ethiopians to educate the US Senate and Congress not to defeat HR 2003 (because HR 2003 is dead) but to make them aware that there are shady elements among the Ethiopian Diaspora who are lobbying and manipulating the US Congress to pass an anti American bill. The dead HR 2003 bill would have strengthened the hands of the Islamic forces to attack the USA. We should educate our host nation about the snakes in our midst who by their action are setting up disaster for not only Ethiopia but the USA as well. Just maybe this article by the Washington Post may be the fruit of the education campaign being waged by Patriotic Ethiopians.

Stimulating Ethiopia's economies would make your parents proud. Bravo! Keep it up bro!

Shabia Ministry of Intoxication

Several weeks ago the intoxicated Shabia leadership predicted that Ethiopia would launch a war the first week of November. As we are just a few days away from entering the last week of November, it appears Shabias intelligence unit prediction has been proven wrong and inept. We have no doubt that the Shabian intelligence unit is fueled by the volume of alcohol it consumes before it makes policy and propaganda decisions. The Shabia prediction became the focus of conversation of many websites, radio stations and Paltalk rooms. As usual anything Shabia says or predicts turns out nothing more than hot air. The Sun never setting is the symbol that illustrates Shabia bravado and emptiness.

As we stated the Shabia policy is dictated by the volume of alcohol it consumes before it makes decisions with serious implications. Therefore, we do not consider it bold to predict that the latest delivery of Johnny Walker to the Shabian Palace in Massawa may have had double the content of Alcohol normally delivered. We say this because the Shabian propaganda machine has just blown this news about Ethiopia declaring war
click here to read into the media breathalyzer. As far as we can tell the breathalyzer has concluded that the Shabia Propaganda machine is guilty of PWI or (Propagandizing While Intoxicated.) Shabia is now declaring that "Ethiopia has declared war." Shabia have you no shame embarrassing yourself in the public medium crying day in and day out. If Ethiopia has declared war, then you can do something about it yourself. Why do you have the need to cry like a helpless child? Whatever happened to your; I am a superpower state of mind. What happened to I can eat breakfast in Mekelle and lunch in Addis propaganda. Look what you have resorted to these days. You surely must be badly beaten, deflated and demoralized to have gone from a Superpower just a few years ago to a Paper Tiger today. Ayeee Shabia Ambessa!
