Objective: to develop a document which can be used as the back bone for an educational campaign to inform US Senators about the deceptive tactics being used by Donald Payne to save Issayas from his demise. Furthermore to provide proof that by his actions Donald Payne is doing his best to destroy Ethiopia by supporting via his office all nations and organizations who are working to dismantle Ethiopia. Namely Eritrea ONLF, OLF and the terrorists in Somalia. As part of this campaign we need to establish a relationship with The Israeli lobbies and educate them about Payne's agenda. That will by default push them to support our objectives. The Israels would not want Donald Payne's agenda to succeed in that region. It is not in Israels interest for Payne agenda to bear fruit.The Israelis have a powerful lobby in Washington DC. All we need to do is to educate them that the joint Shabia, CUD, OLF, ONLF campaign is not in their interest. This will not be hard to accomplish and the CUD will not be able to counter this mode of attack because they are in bed with groups that are working towards the destruction of Israel. As part of this tactic we also need to target Payne's core constituency and expose his anti African agenda which is intent on humiliating the only nation which managed to maintain her Independence. This attack is not only on Ethiopia but on all Africans who are inspired by the symbol Ethiopia represents for black pride. Furthermore it is time to hold Payne accountable for the miserable state of affairs in New Jersey. The Senator who has failed to clean up his own home should be exposed when he sets higher standards for people thousands miles away while people n his own back yard are living lives not that much better than the poor old folks in Africa! HR 2003 is not close to becoming Law despite what the Al Mariams of the world tell you. Be informed about how a bill becomes law in the USA. There is still a long road ahead for the legislation to take effect if by miracle it passes the house, Senate, Presidential Veto and 3/4th override. Last week's development will send the bill on to the full 435-member House before it reaches the Senate members who must also debate, approve it and send the legislation on to the President for his signature. Only a two-thirds majority could overrule the Executive's rejection, if the President maintains opposition to the Bill, according to the customs of lawmaking in the US. No matter how much this Shabia sponsored bill is promoted to make those in the CUD feel good about themselves; the fact is that it is a cruel world out their and no amount of self aggrandizement will fool your supporters forever. Berhanu Nega faction is hardly Moderate. They are extremist and dangerous! Moderation and moderates seems to be the new buzz word floating around in the Diaspora theater of operations. In fact the supporters of the Berhanu faction of the now defunct CUD seems to be attempting to portray him and his “collective leaders” (what ever that means) as moderates. In reality the Berhanu faction is far from moderate. The leadership and its supporters are a compilation of some of the shadiest characters in Ethiopia. A well thought out and written article by Dr. Maru does a wonderful job portraying these hoodlums. For the record we at Hagerfiker have posted several audio recordings that disgusted many Ethiopians. For the most part the racist, chauvinist audios we posted was mostly words that emanated from the mouths of the Berhanu supporters. When Lidetu Ayalew joined the Parliament the Berhanu faction severely attacked Lidetu for exercising his democratic right. They never condemned their supporters when the marched in Addis and said “Eka wede Kebele, Tigre Wede Mekelle”. No they are not moderates and they are not democrats. They are ex EPRP, Derg cadres (mostly youth who were raised by the Derg and act like the Derg. The man has attempted with a little help from his friends to reinvent himself. Starting from the book written by Andargachew Tsigie (supposedly written by Berhanu in Kaliti) to his recent speeches and interviews portraying himself as a brave hero willing to risk all in the dangerous game of politics. In reality however the real face of Berhanu Nega is a coward who is a pro at assessing risk to himself very much like an acturalist does for an insurance company. Berhanu Nega is assessing the risk and mitigating it by conveniently removing himself from a risky position. That is why while he was in Ethiopia after his release from Kaliti he was not heard spouting the kind of bravado we hear today in the safety of the US borders. A few weeks ago Berhanu was heard in an interview stating that given the opportunity, he would repeat the activities that landed him in the rent free gated community called Kaiti. In other words he would do all he could do to cause a riot and cause the death of 199 people. This statement should be carefully examined by the authorities in Ethiopia. It seems incongruent with the spirit of the agreement which freed him from the gated community called Kaliti. In reality Berhanu is not very brave. Stories will soon emerge from the CUD camp which will clearly illustrate his cowardice and his hunger to enter the Parliament. We shall leave the details to the combating CUD factions. However we have no problem reminding Berhanu Nega what is already publicly known in both the Diaspora and domestic theater. During the post election transitional period, Berhanu met several times with H.E Arkebe Enquai. A series of meetings between the outgoing and incoming administrations worked on setting up a smooth transfer of power for the incoming administration. Berhane Nega was actively involved in this process and played major roles in setting up his administration and coordinating it with Arkebes administration. This activity proves that Berhanu was never a willing participant in the boycott Parliament camp. In fact it was when Hailu Shawel instructed him that by no means was he to accept the transfer of power that his dreams were shattered and he was not able to take over as mayor. Therefore, were it not for Hailu Shawel, Berhanu would have been the mayor and he would have accomplished his thirst for the limelight he so badly desired. Berhanu Nega needs to answer one question for all Ethiopians. What is his postion on the CUD alliance in the Shabia AFD? He has cowardly managed to avoid addressing this issue. Ethiopia needs a strong opposition party willing to work within the rule of law. We hope the CUD leaders for the sake of Ethiopia will straighten out their mess and get back to the business of working for the betterment of Ethiopia. Ethiopia needs all her children to work for Ethiopia. Excluding any segment of Ethiopia from participating in Ethiopia's day to day activities only benefits her enemies. Having said that, if the CUD leaders continue to pursue a negative and vindictive path, they will only engulf themselves in a blaze which will consume them once and for all. Berhanu Negas bravado and arrogance may get him a standing ovation in some quarters but will not win him friends in places he truly needs. We know what transpired the day the police arrested Berhanu Nega in 2005. Far from being brave we know that his inability to control his bodily fluids required a change of pants that fateful day. The bravado he is expressing in banquet halls in the USA is far from how he reacted when he first got arrested. We here whispers that Berhanu Nega may not return to Ethiopia after the current fund raising. Some say he is going to work at the University in New York. Whatever maybe his fate, Berhanu Nega needs to get over the humiliation of having wet his pants and work for improving the lot of the majority of Ethiopians who count on the likes of PM Meles and the CUD leaders to improve their lives. CUD is dead; but the possibility of another group emerging from that lot, willing to work within the framework of a loyal oppostion is wide open. We understand many people would like an analysis of the day to day war that has engulfed that organization. However, we at Hagerfiker have declared CUD a dead organization. The leaderless organization now only exists in the Paltalk rooms and the minds of the webmasters who support the CUD factions. Just like the AFD, CUD is a non existent leaderless organization. By name it may exist but in real life it is many groups who use the same name (CUD)to represent their gang. In other words in today's Diaspora a group that calls itself CUD accuses another group by the same name of stealing money, acting dictatorial and betraying Ethiopia. The other CUD group responds in kind by throwing the same mud at the group that uses the same name. All in all it is funny to watch because they are doing everything to guarantee that they will never rise again. If you recall it took them 14 years to recover from the major fallout that occurred from the days of the Goshu Wolde Arbegna days. In fact history repeats itself once again. The reason it took that long to overcome that legacy is because very much like today the issues that drive the wedge are missing funds, false rebel groups, diametrically opposing political objectives and many other factors which guarantied that the organization was going to fail from inception. Back in 1991-1992 at the height of a vibrant Diaspora opposition phase, the Goshu Wolde of the world experienced the same kind of public rebellion that is occurring today. However unlike today the insults and defamation of character were limited by the few venues available to decimate this ALUBALTA, namely; a few magazines, hand distributed articles and meetings held in various cities. The fallout from the infighting caused these people to part ways and get out of politics until the EPRDF opened up the political space and encouraged the likes of the CUD to emerge and play for power. The space that was opened up by the EPRDF by no opposition leverage, managed to convince the naive Diasporans that the CUD was an emerging power capable of removing EPRDF from power either by ballot or bullet. This sentiment played a role in allowing the opposition groups to put behind them their bitter hate for one another and unite in the hopes of removing the EPRDF. In reality these groups only managed to create a marriage of convenience and not a marriage based on mutual respect and love. Today unlike the 1990's the technology has reached such a level that the world is smaller and more connected. The insults and fights which paralyzed the opposition in 1991 evolved from actions and words that occurred in meeting halls and magazines. Today that is no longer the case. As this article is being composed several Paltalk rooms, radio stations and websites are viciously attacking the different CUD factions. The fighting this time is no longer limited to those who take the time to go to meetings but to anyone who can now sit at home and participate in the discussions. The level of animosity and hate they have for each other is beyond comprehension. If it took the opposition 14 years to overcome the minor disagreements limited by described scope in the 1990's, how in the world will they ever overcome this fight. Unlike the 1990's the words in the Paltalk room, the articles in the respective websites, the archives at the radio station etc are going guarantee that the a Diaspora will never again effectively wage any form of struggle against the EPRDF. History has repeated itself and CUD is dead and buried.   What Shabia meant by getting on her knees! Arrogant Issayas Afeworki told the USA through his mouth piece that the only time Eritreans get on their knees is to pray and shoot. This statement is misleading. According to credible human rights organization, in todays Eritrea you can actually get shot for praying. Furthermore, when the USA decideds (it appears to be very soon) it has had enough of Shabia and takes action, the first ones to get on their knees will be the Shabians. They will get on their knees not to shoot but to pray for Mercy. There is another reason the Shabians will get on their knees. However since this website is rated PG and we have young kids who visit this site, we will leave it to your imaginations.
