The OLF and its classic blunders continue unabated. We all recall the hoopla associated with the advent of the AFD. The AFD a mastermind of Shabia led by its top cadre (OLF) has been sending out mixed messages now for over 6 months. Shabias favorite cadre the OLF has done a terrible job hiding its true intentions of its hatred for Ethiopia as well as the Amhara and Tigrayan ethnic groups. We all recall the interview held by a top OLF official Ato Beyen which expressed his true feelings for Amharas click here to listen This interview was conducted after the creation of AFD. In that interview he expressed the true OLF position which included seceding from the colonial Ethiopia and hate for the Amhara ethnic group. Furthermore he basically told everyone that the OLF was in charge of the AFD. The latest blunder was conducted using press releases to express the OLF position on the Somalia crisis. This has exposed something we have long suspected. One of course is the OLF is a confused organization and the other is that the OLF has internal problems. This problem manifests itself by sending mixed and contradicting messages. The latest has to do with the OLF press releases regarding the Somalia crises. According to our favorite tabloid Ethiopian Review OLF is now claiming that the press release posted yesterday was not from the organization. If that is the case then which OLF sent out the first press release? A few scenarios are possible. One is that the OLF sent out this press release and has now decided to deny ownership when they realized the statement below; “On the contrary, we call up on the Oromo people to remain focussed on the national liberation struggle to liberate Oromia from Ethiopian colonization.” Click here to read. Was working against their interest (OLF) and upset their puppet CUD associates. This of course would force the OLF bosses to deny sending out that first press release and issuing a much toned down version later on that day. Another scenario to consider is that the OLF is split internally. It may in fact be the case that there are elements of the OLF who reject working with non Oromo organizations such as CUD. This faction may not appreciate the false love affair between the OLF and CUD. This may in fact be one reason why we are hearing two different positions on the Somalia affair. For more background information visit the OLF website and read their statement. You will find the following in that statement. Click here to read. “Tigrean regime, that grabbed power from the Amhara rulers in 1991, is far from enabling the Oromo people and others to realize this fundamental right. It is merely a cosmetic change intended to affect the momentum of our just struggle. The OLF reiterates the struggle of the Oromo people is not directed against any people but the system of oppression. In fact the OLF and the Oromo people are committed to the noble cause of laying a foundation for union of free peoples on the basis of their freely expressed will.” This statement accomplishes two things. It conveys to its followers the organizations true feelings towards the Amhara and Tigrayan ethnic groups and its true intentions of seceding from Ethiopia. This is something they do not deny even in their own website. The truth of the matter is that the OLF has not changed its colors or its message. It is today like yesterday anti-Ethiopian, Anti Unity and Anti Peace. They are not sophisticated enough to camouflage these feelings as described above. All we need to do is open our eyes and see the truth.
